A weekend, well-spent: Comporta
An itinerary for those who have already done Mykonos, St Barths and the Hamptons.
An hour south of Lisbon, Comporta is the answer to a quiet question: where do people who can go anywhere actually want to go on a Friday?
The honest itinerary, no fluff.
Friday
Land at LIS by lunch. Drive (or be driven) to a private villa in Pego or Carvalhal. Late swim, simple grilled fish at home, early night. The point of Comporta is the silence — protect it on day one.
Saturday
Morning ride along the rice paddies on horseback (Cavalos na Areia is the answer). Lunch at Sublime Beach Club or, better, a private set-up on the dunes. Afternoon at home. Dinner at JNcQUOI Deli Comporta or a chef sent to the house — both work; the second is what we usually arrange.
Sunday
Walk the beach at Praia do Pego before the wind comes up. Late breakfast. Drive back to LIS in the early afternoon. Wheels up by five. You will land home rested in a way that almost no other European weekend delivers.
